Design and manufacture of customized aluminium cases
Design Duval was asked to create a sales case designed to carry wood construction samples that are not too fragile, in a wide variety of sizes and types.
The most practical solution was to provide a large case with a simple layout.
This well sized case consists of a box divided in two by a partition.
In order to be consistent with the consultants target, we chose high quality and high-end materials and finishes:
- PVC coated wood panels,
- aluminium frame with reinforced angles,
- comfortable metal-like handle,
- four resin feet to stabilize the case and protect the bottom.
In addition to being elegant and sturdy, the presentation case also proves to be very functional. We equipped it with a compartment to store the catalogue inside the lid. This leatherette panel is removable by means of a twist lock. It was completed with a clear PVC business card pocket and elastic loops to organize pens and tape measure.
Specialized in custom-made products and creative ideas, Design Duval customized this case in the client’s colours.
The PVC wooden panel covering was screenprinted with the client’s pantone orange. It was then milled to reveal the wood of the panel in the shape of a pattern. This aesthetic and original process was highly appreciated for its natural appearance, in harmony with the customer’s field.

This project was carried out as a partial service: the aluminium suitcase was delivered with an ETICS model size 238 x 148 mm, manufactured entirely in our workshops:
- model manufacturing (frame fitting, wire mesh, primer, finishing coat),
- model cutting,
- display cardboard design, cutting and printing,
- cardboard and case design finishes.
