The 30 mm thick concrete blocks were printed on our large format digital printer that can print thicknesses of up to 50 mm and dimensions up to 2,50 x 1,50 meters.
The concrete material was prepared by the client in his own workshops and delivered as standard slab formats of 800x800x100 mm. We first cut down the slabs horizontally to keep a top layer of 30 mm. The samples were then cut to size 100 x 100 mm.
Cutting on five sides allows a cross-sectional view of the concrete’s composition and aggregate. Making it an ideal and precious demonstration and sales tool to show the material’s physical characteristics,
Quality and flexibility of large format digital printing on concrete
Direct large format high definition digital printing is made in CMYK with addition of a 5th colour with VOC-free UV inks. The ink’s resistance and solidity are immediate and permanent on concrete.
The inks remain transparent and the print, although in high definition, does not mask the substrate. The material and visual characteristics of the concrete remain visible.
